I was chatting the other day with one of my male friends about prostitution, brothels and the sex industry in Nevada. He was preparing for his new radio show on KLAV1230am talk radio, and I asked him if I could be on-air his first debut week. I am involved with a new line of healthier novelty products that I wanted to introduce to the community, and this was a great way to talk about the product , the subject of sex , brothels, legalizing safe-sex, and the entertainment businesses in Las Vegas, Nevada.
You know by now that I have been ranting in my previous blogs on legalizing “Brothels.” So, what would be the difference if there were a GLB & brothel hotel that could be set up on the outskirts of Las Vegas where you could actually spend the night and get laid too? I know the Resort & Spa at Sheri’s Ranch, a Brothel in Pahrump has a hotel, and you can spend the night there, but that is the only one that I know of in Nevada. We know that there are a lot of transactions and illegal activities going on in regular hotel rooms here in Nevada. Heck! just look in any phone book here in Nevada where there are literally 100’s of pages of entertainers that will go to your hotel room and at least 90 of them are full pages. Let us do the math here, they probably run anywhere from $2,800 to $4,000 per month? Then there are the massage and/or out-call services and that’s another 70 pages, regular listing in every periodical and that doesn’t include the internet or private magazines that they have in newsstands all over the valley, plus postcards that are handed out on a daily basis on the Las Vegas Strip. Therefore, I started thinking more about legalizing a brothel hotel in Clark County…why the hell not? However, as mentioned in my prior blog, there are way too many feeder fish out there that are sucking up the profits from these illegal activities and don’t give a dam on legalizing safe-sex. Would we be putting these businesses right out of business? I think not, they would just have to pay their taxes (I mean really pay their taxes). Of course, there are the Taxi drivers and Doormen who are the biggest extortionists with payouts at the door. Its not their fault though, it’s the greedy club owners who are doing a “one-up” on each others clubs and before you know it, they are almost up to $80-100 per person that they drop off at the club door, not to mention a percentage of the tab that the customer spends. I heard that there was a payout to a cab driver for $10,000 from one customer. I’ll bet the customer spent a lot of money that night. Now, if there were more legal places then extortionists wouldn’t make that kind of money on one call, but more consistant tips for referrals just the same.
So, I also got to thinking about the GLB community. Do they go to brothels? If a woman wanted to be with a woman, many bi-sexual women are available at a brothel. At least you know that you are safe and your privacy is protected. The only bummer here is that they don’t have the “Heidi” Brothel for men. I don’t know what happened to all of that! If you don’t know who Heidi is, she was the madam that got busted and was looking to start a male brothel “stud farm” in Pahrump, Nevada. She proposed the darn thing back in 2005. Many people thought it was just a publicity stunt and supposedly, Tyson was going to be her first “Stud.” Now I don’t know about you, but I don’t think he would have lasted too long, however, he might have been good at it when he was “out of town” a few years back. Anyway, Heidi ended up opening up a Laundromat in Pahrump, Nevada called “Dirty Laundry.” Go figure! I’ll bet she has her hands in something else beside a laundry. She now claims to be interested in “alternative energy.” She made a statement to the Review Journal “That’s where the money is.” Yeah right!!
So, with that in mind, why is it that “WE” as adults in all states cannot do what we want with our bodies, whether selling it for the night, or selling it to a nice dinner and drinks and a hotel room? What is the difference and why are we having such a hard time getting safe sex establishments on the ballots. Maybe we are wording it all wrong! Do you think there is even a remote possibility of getting a Brothel Hotel put on the ballot? I sure would like to know how to get that done. Since I am not politically correct, and obviously not a real writer, (as you can tell by my blog) heck, I just want everything to be fair. Now, if you do the math, there could be a lot of extra money that’s paid in taxes going to those wonderful road construction projects that keep popping up all over town and have been for the last 20 years. Maybe we could get them fixed and working faster with money left over for other needed projects that are cut every year.
How come these guys from foreign countries can come in, buy things up and in no time have their hotel or whatever up and running within a short period of time? Come on, this is an important issue. Getting a safer place built so we can get many of the prostitutes off the streets and have a cleaner looking town and surrounding areas. I know we are not going to get them all off the streets, but I think that if they had a clean, safe place to do their business, be health screened and felt safer too, then they might think twice about working the streets and having a pimp.
Legalizing safe sex Brothels would be the best way to go, do you agree?
