WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE “HOT” LADIES?

I was sitting at my desk this morning and my boss walks in and tells me to get this PR piece finished for this new employee that was hired last week.  As I am writing a few sentences, I overheard him say that the lady should put her photo on her  business card because she was hot and she should take advantage of that.

OK, I have been working at this company for 3 years.  I am a one-woman band that works for everyone in the company that staff over 50.   I was never asked to put a photo on my business card and no one else in the company has a photo card either.  I’ve been told I am pretty, so, what is the deal? OK, I’m a little jealous perhaps, but what is it that makes some women hot and some not?  I sure hope it’s not just their bra cup size!

I know that there is a place and a time for everything.  I thought at this stage in my life, there are some new things I certainly need to learn about being a hot woman. Maybe I needed a make-over, or at least that is how I felt at the time…read on.

I started asking men and some women too what their opinion of “Hot” was and could they explain. Most men said that it’s the looks for sure. The typical bra cup, ass and of course if you can look into their eyes without staring at their tits, some said eyes. Surprising enough there were not many men that said legs or waistline, but just a few. They also said full voluptuous hair, and most said Brunette.

After reviewing all of the notes that I took over a period of 4 months I have come to the conclusion that its those darn skinny, airbrushed and well tanned models that are getting in the way of natural beauty. I know that a well made up woman looks better than if she were to go without make-up, and her hair should always look good, but there are those woman that don’t have a clue about make-up, or to wear. There are some women who just know how to shop, wear their make-up perfectly and fix their hair to perfection too. So, with that said, I started going to several make-up and hair establishments just to see if there were any helpful hints to making me look “hot.”

The first place I went was to a beauty salon.  Sure you could have your hair done in a million different styles, colors and cuts. I asked a lot of questions but unfortunately they didn’t have much to say except what “might” look good, what color I “might” want to consider. The length was about all that they could clearly come up with an answer for. Sure, they could do your hair but that was not going to make me look hot.  So, with that said, I settled for a cut and color. I looked nice and felt good about the new look but I was certainly not “Hot” yet.

Applying make-up would be the next step, so I went to Ulta Cosmetics. Now this is a store where you can find anything and everything. In fact, this place is almost overwhelming. The choices of cosmetics were in the hundreds and what’s a girl to do?  Oh, they have a few ladies assisting you, but the first thing that the young lady said to me was “I like this one” and “how good it works for me” and so, being naïve, I thought well, if it works for you, and I could look like you with that satin finish face, then maybe I’ll try it. I mean, what did I have to lose!

My next step in this phase of transformation was clothing. Boy! Did I have a lot to learn about what to buy to get that “Hot” look. Most of the stuff I tried on did not make me look hot, but I will tell you I certainly felt like I should be standing on the corner with some of the clothing I tried on. So, after 5 hours of trying on things with minimal assistance of the store clerks who were all in their teens, I finally found a couple of items that were on the top of the “hot list” at the clothing stores.  Of course, after all of the clothes buying, I needed shoes to match. Oh, and that was another 4 hours of shoes that I wouldn’t be caught dead in, let alone walking in them.  After all was said and done, I proceeded to go home with my new hair-do, cosmetics, clothes and shoes.

After arriving at home, I laid all of the items on the counter with the instructions I received from the store clerk on how to apply all of this stuff. I started with my fresh clean face. Ok, here goes; moisturizer, foundation, under eye highlighter, eye shadow, mascara, eyebrow pencil, blush, powder to set the make-up, then the last thing was the lip liner & lipstick. Ok, so I felt a little heavy, but what the heck, I want to look “hot.”

Now, the final step in transformation, the clothes and shoes and hopefully one-step further to my goal of looking “hot.”

I proceeded to get dressed in my new “costume” with shoes to match! OK, after looking in the mirror, I still saw the same woman. Now keep in mind that I am a tall and thin to begin with, 5’7,” 122lbs, busty, blonde hair and blue- eyed woman in her mid 40’s. Now, with my measurements you would expect me to be hot by the figures. Well, that’s not true. I have chicken legs and thin hair, not voluptuous. What I tried to accomplish was not the impossible but it didn’t tell me I was “Hot”.  All I felt was a lot of money wasted on stuff that I would not normally wear out. The cosmetics were a little too pricey and too much to wear on a daily basis, and the shoes could only be worn if I were wearing that “hot” outfit and I wouldn’t be able to wear them for more than three hours at a time without them killing my feet.

In conclusion, I know all of us women want to be admired, we love looking good but it’s all in how we perceive ourselves. Just because someone tells you you’re hot, doesn’t necessarily mean that the other guy feels the same way. There is someone for everyone and although we may feel doomed to being single, look in the mirror ladies and tell yourself now that whatever you got, whatever they got, someone wants the same thing. So whether you’re young or middle-aged or in your elderly years, just be yourself. Wear make-up if you think it makes you look better, do some nice things to your hair if you are so inclined, get a manicure and pedicure but by no means transform yourself to something you are not.
